When people are liberated and set free, they do not know what to do with their new found freedom. When their bonds have been broken, they lose restraint. If there are no boundaries and no limits, is that freedom? If there are no boundaries and no limits, then how do you define freedom? How do you know you are free?
Freedom is NOT swapping one form of bondage for another…
Our Abba is VERY ordered and precise in all that He does. He gave Israel their freedom. He broke their bonds and led them out to the wilderness. He gave them choice…something that they did not have when they were enslaved in Egypt. Some of them used their new found freedom and the free choice he gave them to rebel. They did not know what to do with their new found freedom, they cast off restraint and followed their own wants and desires. They even built an idol for themselves…they set up their own system of worship right there before YHVH.
YHVH is calling people out of this world every day. He is breaking their bonds. He is setting them free and giving them choice. Many today still do not know what to do with their new found freedom. They still rebel and some still build up idols for themselves and create their OWN systems of worship. Freedom is a great responsibility and what we do with the freedom we are given has a profound impact on our lives now and for the future.
When we enter into rebellion, we become our own adversary. Those who are in rebellion think they are right and that everyone else is wrong. They refuse to see their own error, because they will not humble themselves…their pride will not allow them too.
No one is above falling into the pit of rebellion and the only solution is humility and to submit. Man is stiff-necked and proud, and man ALWAYS falls victim to his own pride…pride lies at the root of transgression. Pride blinds the eyes and clouds the mind. Pride deceives and it lies.
1 Samuel 15:22-23
22 Then Shemu’ĕl said, “Does יהוה delight in burnt offerings and slaughterings, as in obeying the voice of יהוה? Look, to obey is better than an offering, to heed is better than the fat of rams. 23 “For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as wickedness and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of יהוה, He also does reject you as sovereign.”
To be rejected, is to be cut off…
Abba takes rebellion very, VERY seriously!
Always, seek the truth…rethink, relearn, return.
