It is really sad that we are so good at prioritizing our lives around the things that we want to do, but when it comes to the things that YHVH asks us to do, COMMANDS us to do, we somehow always find ourselves short of time and with other appointments that somehow become more important to us.
Just like little children…though we are warned over and over again of the consequences for doing what we are told not to do, we do it anyway thinking our parents won’t know. Do you REALLY think you can hide anything from YHVH? Wow…
He tells us that we have six days to do our work…OUR work…the things WE want to do. People don’t let anything interfere with those things that they believe they must do during the week, but when it is time to keep our weekly appointment with YHVH, people have no problem putting that off.
There is always a reason, always a justification, always an explanation to make you feel better about what you are doing. When you do that…you are saying to YHVH that the things you want to do are MORE important to you than Him! You can’t possibly take a day off from work, or schedule your other obligations around the things you want to do during the week, but you don’t mind putting YHVH off and using your appointment time with Him to do those other things. Sigh…
People cannot even obey and keep the most BASIC things He tells us to do, yet they think they are set apart by keeping the Shabbat and using it as a fun day for themselves.
When people really need Him and are searching diligently for Him they will cry out ‘Where are you?’ and YHVH will reply ‘Where were you?’
13 “Stop bringing futile offerings, incense, it is an abomination to Me. New Moons, Sabbaths, the calling of meetings – I am unable to bear unrighteousness and assembly. 14 “My being hates your New Moons and your appointed times, they are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them. 15 “And when you spread out your hands, I hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I do not hear. Your hands have become filled with blood.
Always, seek the truth…rethink, relearn, return.
